About Yvette
I am a University of Sydney student studying Electrical Engineering (Honors) and Commerce. I have been tutoring students for three years now and hope to help more students at super prof. I can offer tutoring in IB economics, IB biology, IB math AA SL, IB Chemistry SL, IB Chinese B HL as well as basic math and science for junior high school students.

My core teaching philosophy is that learning should be an active and collaborative process. My methodology is built around three key pillars:
Customization: I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach. I first assess each student's current understanding and learning style to tailor the session to their specific needs.
Active Engagement: I move beyond simple lectures. I use probing questions (the Socratic Method) to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. This empowers students to actively participate in their own learning and discover solutions for themselves.
Reinforcement: I focus on building a strong foundation. After each session, I provide supplementary exercises and practice problems that reinforce the concepts we covered, ensuring long-term retention and mastery.
I am confident that this approach not only improves students' grades but also equips them with valuable study skills they can use throughout their academic careers.
