About Robin
Hello! I'm Robin, current BA Music Production Student at Nottingham Trent University, Course Representative and Student Mentor!
I aspire to be a lecturer for this very subject, teaching the next generation how to use Music Technology.
Music is a core part of everyone's life - connecting emotion, memory and rhythm in a way no other creative art can achieve. Today, it has never been easier to use technology to create songs to describe exactly how an artist feels - But it is still a skill that must be practiced and taught.
Here's a bit of what I can teach:
- Music Production (Logic, Cubase, FL Studio, Pro Tools, etc)
- Audio Engineering Basics
- Advanced Mixing and Mastering
- Music Tech History
- GCSE/A-Level Music Technology*
I have 10 years of hands-on experience with Music Production, mostly self-taught and reinforced with University study. This has allowed me to sign with labels and achieve some plays on BBC Radio!
If you're looking for a tutor that respects artist vision, understands technology like a map, and can visually demonstrate why things work rather than through words - I'm your guy!
* I do not hold a PGCE or Teaching qualification, however I am studying this subject well above UK Level 3 (A-level).

My mantra as a tutor - Break the rules as you learn!
Creative arts are "creative" for a reason - There is no right or wrong, only more efficient methods than the last.
It is equally important to touch on the history of Music Technology, for those invented between 1950 and 2000 are still very much relevant today.
From experience, knowledge of Music Tech history has had a profound impact on the way I use software today.
Typical lessons are 1-2 hours, depending on topic and progression
I can teach anyone 12+ at all skill levels; From complete beginner to advanced technology and techniques.
