Each lesson is customized to the student’s objectives—whether it’s improving grades, preparing for a language exam, traveling abroad, or gaining fluency for work. My approach to teaching Spanish emphasizes the three C’s: culture, context, and connection. I believe that learning a language is not just about mastering vocabulary or grammar—it’s about understanding people, stories, and ways of life. I design lessons that go beyond textbooks to bring the Spanish-speaking world to life, while also building solid linguistic foundations.
Language is a tool for communication, so I prioritize conversational fluency from the beginning. Even with beginners, I use Spanish consistently in class, combining visual aids, gestures, and real-life examples to help students connect meaning to words naturally. For intermediate and advanced learners, we focus on expanding vocabulary, refining grammar usage, and gaining conversational nuance.
Every grammar point is taught in context. Rather than drilling isolated rules, I embed grammar into meaningful conversations, readings, and writing tasks. Whether we’re practicing the past tense through storytelling or learning commands by giving directions, students always understand why they’re using a form—not just how.
Cultural exploration is at the heart of my method. Each lesson offers a glimpse into the Spanish-speaking world—whether we’re discussing Día de los Muertos in Mexico, reading a poem by Pablo Neruda, or watching a news clip from Spain.
