About Jessica
My name is Jessica Sloan and I have been a teacher for 12 years. Ten of those years, I taught elementary math to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. While I have taught other subjects, I have had the greatest success in math. My students have scored highest in the school multiple times on their statewide math assessments. Over the years, I have learned and perfected many techniques to help students understand content and master standards. I was Teacher of the Year in 2000-2001 and have scored highly effective in classroom observations for the past 5 years.

Lessons will be geared toward the students individual needs. While mastering grade-level work, it may also be necessary to access standards from previous grades to build a greater, lasting depth of understanding.
Lessons will not just be repetitive practice (though there is a place for that) but will include multiple strategies, relating content to real-world situations, and even some fun!
