Hi, my name is Ms. Amelia and I have taught elementary for 5 years at schools re known for their hands-on approach and have modeled instruction for other teachers from across the state. I have a passion for math and science in particular, however also have experience teaching up to 6th and 7th English. I have a masters degree in elementary education and a bachelors in art history. I like to use art as a means of providing visual references and hands-on approaches for students learning social studies and English.
When working with a new student, I like to begin with an assessment and get to know how your student learns best. I will also reach out to their classroom teacher in order to set goals and create a plan to achieve them. Once we have our goals set, I like to start with an educational warm up game to get your student thinking about the concept before delving into new instruction. Each session, I informally assess in order to guide the next lesson.
