About Naomi
As a lifelong learner passionate about empowering others, I view education as a collaborative process of sharing diverse perspectives to cultivate greater understanding. For over 15 years, I have enriched learning experiences for students through thoughtful instruction, research, and community engagement. My background includes advanced degrees in Sociology, as well as honors for bringing complex social issues to life through interactive online discussions. Beyond the classroom, I actively promote inclusion through published works, ensuring all voices feel respected. I am proud to have authored two scholarly textbooks. In my most recent, "Implementing Success: Strategies for Effective Caregiving and Care Support," my co-author Schieloh Wolfe and I provided evidence-based guidance for caregivers nationwide. Previously, as sole author of "Social Problems and Silver Linings," I examined social issues through a strengths-based lens, highlighting community-driven solutions. Through an empowering framework, this text encouraged readers to address challenges creatively with empathy, participation, and presence of mind. What drives my work is a belief in learning as a collaborative journey. I aim to empower students and readers as agents of positive change through empathetic analysis of real-world challenges. My research also explores using arts and storytelling to illuminate diverse perspectives on sustainability and well-being. Outside academia, I enjoy volunteering with organizations amplifying environmental stewardship and gender equity. My passions remain at my core, nurturing inclusion and cultivating hope for a just future. I look forward to engaging in meaningful discussion and knowledge-sharing around building a society of belonging, compassion, and resilience for all.
