About Martina
I am a passionate flute tutor with 5 years of teaching experience, having taught over 150 students successfully. I focus on building both technical proficiency and musical creativity. My lessons emphasise breath control, finger agility, tone, and rhythm while fostering improvisation and expressive playing.
I personalise each lesson to match the student’s learning style and goals, ensuring steady progress and an enjoyable experience. I also include music theory, sight-reading, and ensemble practice to give students a complete understanding of music. My goal is to inspire students to play with skill, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.

My flute teaching methodology is centred on understanding each student’s individual learning style and creating a personalised, engaging, and effective learning experience. I observe whether a student learns best through visual demonstration, listening, or hands-on practice, and adapt my lessons to match their needs. This ensures every session is enjoyable and productive.
Flexibility is a key aspect of my approach. I adjust exercises, repertoire, and practice routines to match the student’s pace, goals, and interests, ensuring they progress steadily while remaining motivated. Collaboration is also an integral part of my teaching; I encourage duets, group practice, and ensemble exercises that build confidence, musicality, and teamwork. Positivity underpins every lesson, fostering a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, embrace challenges, and celebrate their progress.
Alongside flute instruction, I include music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training to provide a comprehensive musical foundation. This methodology balances technical skill development with expressive creativity, helping students grow into confident, versatile, and passionate musicians.
