About Shaney
I am a Canadian teacher who has been instructing in the fields of English and Drama since 2014. I have had hundreds of students over the years, many of whom have gone on to major in these fields of study. I have taught ages 8-18, and am currently a Year 4 teacher here in London.

I feel confident in teaching English to all grade levels. I have advanced experience in Year 11-13 essay writing, reading strategies, and novel study. As well as KS2 & KS3 reading, comprehension, and spellings.
I believe that students are capable of great things if given the tools to properly enhance and develop their skills. I provide a hands on approach, meeting students where they are, and working to create targets for their learning. For younger key stage students, I will work with the parent to set goals and find fun and innovative ways to get students engaged.
The job of a tutor is to ensure students are developing learning skills that can transfer to all subjects. A good teacher/tutor gives their students the tools to eventually be able to excel independently.
I am an energetic, personable, creative and lively instructor and person. I believe teaching and performing go hand in hand, and I hope to use this energy to get my students excited about education.

Details
If student is at higher level and needs a plethora of additional resources my rate may increase (though this can be discussed and negotiated with parent depending on level of prep work necessary).
If travelling is necessary, travel costs will have to be covered if over 5 pounds. No excessive charge beyond cost of the transportation.
No cancellation fee if cancelled 72 hours prior of session. Beyond this, cancellation fee of 10 pounds for every hour missed.
