About Jessica
I decided to become a teacher as I wanted to spread my enthusiasm for science and inspire the younger generation to consider it as a career. Teaching is challenging but it is overcoming the challenges that make it so rewarding and fulfilling - a similar sentiment I hold for science in general. I pride myself on being hard-working, confident and friendly - full of eagerness and drive. I have high expectations for effort and behaviour and strive to show my pupils and tutees that resilience and positive mental attitude are some of the most important things for success. I believe there is always a solution to a problem. In my teaching to date, I have been complimented on planning, high expectations, routines, confidence and rapport with pupils. I especially cherish the bonds I have formed with my students and tutees over the years. My only aim in teaching and tutoring is to have a positive impact on those under my tutelage - those golden light bulb moments are the reason I am a teacher.

I will ask the tutee to inform me of their subject, exam board and textbook. I will need a self-assessment checklist, from the tutee - highlighting their confident knowledge areas and their needs for improvement. The number of required lessons and length of lessons can then be determined on knowing how much tutoring is required. Exam-style questions will be incorporated throughout. Pre-reading/self work might be requested in preparation for the following session. I also intend to use a few sessions working through exams with tutees.

Jess has an excellent knowledge of Physics and has been teaching science to ks3 and ks4 for a number of years. She is an expert at breaking down challenging topics to make them both enjoyable and accessible for all. Jess is also very experienced working with different exam boards preparing students for final GCSE exams. I highly recommend Jess as a tutor!
Jess was the greatest kind of friend to have at uni: cool and smart. Always helped me out with work in the best kind of way, would never feed me any answers but would instead lead me to them. Now I have a PhD in physics and appreciate even more Jess's help back then.
