About Anne
I am a literature graduate from New York University currently working in the publishing industry in NYC. I speak English, Chinese, and Spanish. I grew up in China and have lived and studied in the US and Latin America as well.
I have experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds of all ages.
I would describe myself as a dedicated, patient, adaptive, and engaging teacher.
My teaching philosophy is keeping the student engaged, finding what works for the student, and getting them to stick to it. I also have developed a system of setting actionable milestones for my students, which has been working great for my students.

I am a native Chinese speaker living in New York City, with years of experience teaching Chinese from 6-year-olds, to university students, to adults, in both English and Spanish. As a language learner myself, my key teaching skills include explaining grammar efficiently and clearly, adapting to the students' need with my customized materials, and introducing students to cultural concepts and phenomenon in an entertaining way.
Practice makes perfect.
Therefore, my classes also include a copy of the class notes from me (in both Chinese characters and pinyin), as well as customized homework, with which you can review after class and make the best out of your class time with me.
