About Jackson
I have multiple years of tutoring experience at the college level for Greenfield Community College. I scheduled appointments, logged what we went over after each appointment, and created a plan for the student to do in between sessions. My experience under professional guidance has helped me develop as a teacher and learn the greater responsibilities that comes with teaching.

Overall my approach is leaned heavily into communication with the student. I want them to be actively thinking things through and not just watching me teach. I want to hear their thought process so it can help me understand what they don't. Once I understand where the student is struggling, I can focus on that issue with them and build a strong problem solving foundation.
I like to start by establishing what the topic is and how to approach the problems it presents. I want to make sure the student knows what they need to identify to start solving the problem. I like to use at least one example problem to go over it visually and vocalizing the process at the same time. While I'm doing this, I'm asking the student questions along the way to hear what they think they should do throughout the process. This can help me identify where they may be getting stuck on a topic.
After establishing how the topic should be approached and solved, I have the student work on homework or a class project that they need to do. I read the questions with them and try to push them in the right direction when they get stuck. If they get really stuck on a problem, I use the opportunity to look back to the example or provide a different one that may better mirror the problem they're having trouble with.
I can teach any level at or below chemistry 102, Physics 102, and calculus 3. I am willing to work with elementary through entry level college courses.
I have strong communication and people skills. I'm currently a banquet hall manager, former lead server who handled couples on their wedding day.
