Hi, I’m Jiayi, also go by Jay — a passionate and patient math tutor dedicated to helping students from middle school through high school not only succeed but grow to enjoy mathematics.
My Teaching Method
I believe that every student learns differently. That’s why I tailor each lesson to match the student's learning style and current understanding. I use real-world examples, step-by-step explanations, and visual aids to break down complex concepts. Whether it’s algebra, geometry, or precalculus, I help students build a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced topics.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Each session begins with a quick check-in to review what the student already knows and identify any sticking points. From there, we dive into the topic through guided practice, collaborative problem-solving, and targeted drills. I also include time for review and Q&A to reinforce learning and build confidence.
What Sets Me Apart
I don’t just teach math — I teach students how to think mathematically. My background in Applied Mathematics and experience working with diverse learners helps me explain challenging concepts in a way that feels approachable.
