About Emira
As a Senior College Student in Engineering, I know how challenging many concepts in STEM are to learn. Learning is not solely about listening to a lecture and taking notes, but to truly understand concepts being taught requires a further step of applying the knowledge of those concepts in solving example problems. By solving example problems, students are able to learn by active recall, retain concepts better with minimal studying, and apply them successfully on homework and exams. This shaves off a lot of study time, and I wish this type of teaching was more prevalent in high school and especially college classroom settings! Sounds easy enough to say, but harder to do, but with practice you can master anything you are learning. I believe everyone is as capable as the goals they set their mind to, and the level of effort they put in. Don't worry if you feel like a concept is too tough and you are not good at it- the people who've mastered things were once beginners just like everyone else. All it takes is practice. I am eager to work with anyone who wants to improve at a skill or concept, and is willing to use this mindset to do so!

Teaching Method/Techniques:
- Screen sharing (through Superprof video call) subject notes and example problems
- Subject notes cover key concepts of the topic (introduction, formulas to remember, and proof if needed)
- Example problems (easy, middle, and challenging level problems to work your way up)
- Go over example problems by going over the steps and solving together with the student
- Subject notes and example problems can be shared in pdf form if needed, or just go over them so the student can take notes from screen sharing (virtual call)
Typical Lesson Plan:
- Cover one-two topics per session, depending on length/level of challenge of topic, and length of tutoring session
- Tutoring session length: typically 1 hr 30 mins - 3 hrs
- Number of days per week: Typically 2-3 times, but up to the user/student

- Virtual tutoring sessions through Superprof video call
- Working out steps to example problems so the student can better understand how concepts are applied in problems through active recall
- Flexible days of the week (can do weekends if needed)
