About Derek
I am Derek, an engineering student; I achieved distinction (A grades) in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in my WASSCE exams. I tutor high school students in these subjects, having previously helped numerous students—including my own classmates—with their exam preparation.
I enjoy working on math and science problems and love teaching others.
Having recently completed my own exam period, I understand exactly what students in a similar situation need, and I can provide effective assistance.

In my lessons, I strive to make mathematics and the natural sciences more enjoyable and easier to understand. I tailor the curriculum to each student's individual needs rather than relying on rote memorization.
Many students memorize formulas without knowing when or how to apply them; my lessons focus specifically on addressing these gaps in understanding.
My sessions cover the following:
- Step-by-step analysis of problems and various solution methods
- Detailed explanations of how to apply different formulas, along with guidance on when and how to use them
- A review of common mistakes and advice on how to avoid them in the future
My goal is to create an environment where students truly come to enjoy mathematics—where they can not only solve problems but also explain them.
