About Lucy
Hey! My name's Lucy and I'm a soon-to-be journalism postgrad with a passion for reading and writing. Having just finished my degree in English Literature, I have the time on my hands to put my english skills to good use and help other students strengthen their skills. I have been a Student Ambassador throughout my time at university, so I am more that comfortable talking to Sixth Form and undergraduate students. Though I do not have a professional teaching qualification, I am confident that I have the energy, knowledge and capability to help teach and guide students through their english studies. Still in education myself, I am fully aware of the mental pressures that the education system puts on our generation, and I understand how hard education can be. I hope to help students who are struggling with their essay writing, english skills and/or application processes during what is no doubt such a stressful time for young pupils.

As a university student, I know how tedious online learning can be. So I hope to build a good rapport with my students through informal, friendly sessions to make online learning more comfortable and engaging. My strengths are in spelling, grammar, syntax (literacy in general), as well as various genres / historical period of literature, including: 20th century African-American literature, Postcolonial writing, women's / Feminist literature, and Shakespeare's works. I am also well versed in application writing and long form essays. Having achieved a First-Class dissertation and an offer to study MA Magazine Journalism next year, I have an established history of successful reading and writing skills. I would ideally like to help students in school / university stages from Year 11 onwards. My help would be best suited to A Level and undergraduate studies (or for university applications and dissertation/essay tutoring).
