About Matthew
Hi, I'm Matt. I'd describe myself as a fun-loving, idea-exploring ... geek. I grew up on a diet of board games, cryptic puzzles, and chess and I love to create playful challenges out of learning. I think the most important thing is to first foster a relationship with the tutee. Every tutor on this site will know the curriculum but what I can offer is to engage your child in the learning, and my true north is to spur them on to learn for themselves and truly exceed in the 11+. Personally, I tutor as I find the week-to-week, month-to-month progress your child makes very fulfilling. I have been tutoring for the 11+ since I was taking my own GCSEs and now have 7 years' experience. I have proven results (getting into top independent schools and bottom to top of class transformation) and I am patient. I always plan and structure lessons so we can make as much progress each time as possible - same approach as I take to my marathon running and language learning. I look forward to meeting you soon! Matt taught both of my daughters in Year 8 and 10 assisting them with their Maths and History. He is very good with kids and both my girls enjoyed being taught by him and showed a marked improvement in their grades.
