About Liam
I was recently teaching general English, business English, pronunciation, communication and presentation skills to students online in China and America. I was teaching one to one classes and group lessons. The range of students varied from those looking to improve their general English to those students who were looking to improve their English elocution and communication skills for the Business Market. The lessons concentrated on presentation skills and public speaking. Before this, in 2007 I moved to Romania and I became aware of the fact whilst teaching TEFL that my students were more interested in the use of the skills of pronunciation and tone to further their linguistic abilities. I became aware that whilst the grammatical structure of English is very important, the ability to speak English succinctly was perhaps equally important or more so. Since returning from Romania, I undertook a second ESL course at Stonebridge College for which I received a Distinction.
- What kind of experience do you have?

I received my original Tefl qualification in London On returning to the UK from Romania I took the TESL, SAC dip diploma with Stonebridge College and achieved a Distinction level for the course.

- Tell me about some of your current students.
My students have been of various ages - from 18 year old students to mature business persons. They have been British, Chinese, Romanian and Indian.
My students have been from all back grounds, teachers, housewives,Medical Doctors and many more. They all came to me because they wanted to improve their spoken English for personal or Professional needs.

My name is Liam O'Sullivan. I am from Windsor and speak with Received Pronunciation (also known as standard or neutral English). I have also provided voice overs for various multimedia presentations and audio books
I am offering a package consisting of five, voice control and elocution private tuition classes. You will need to have access to Skype or Yahoo Messenger and be amenable to having the sessions recorded. The purpose of these recorded classes will be to demonstrate to future students the rapid progress that can be made in voice control and elocution.
Particularly welcome are volunteers who are interested in improving their voice for:
• Telephone work: such as for telesales and other call centre work
• Acting: volunteers who are involved (or would like to be involved) in amateur dramatics.
• Business presentations

- How much do you charge?
The course consists of 5 tailored Lessons which are spread over a five week period, an hour per week.
The cost per hour is £25.00 per class. After the five week course I am always available if any student wishes to practise his/her spoken English.

Why is my course better than others? Well, learning should be an enjoyable experience. Modern techniques Elocution classes can be very frustrating, insisting on students getting to grips with the 44 sounds of English . My approach is to get people to listen to the sound of ones own voice. If you are interested on how this proceeds then please contact for friendly, informative tuition. When I started working in technical support, customers would ring me and ask for advice about computer problems they were having. My manager told me that I sounded very unconfident, mainly because I would not project my voice sufficiently. Liam was very understanding and helped me not to be so shy! My manager is now very pleased with my professional telephone manner.
I was upset that some British people thought that I seemed aggressive. I am not but Chinese people can often say words in a short way with an incorrect pitch. Mr O'Sullivan showed me how to change that.
I used to dread speaking in public. I would be nervous which would make my accent stronger (I am Scottish) and I would run my words together – no one would understand me! Liam showed me how to control my breathing, my pace of delivery and to articulate words more correctly. I feel much more confident about giving presentations now.
