I am Marais van den Berg. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring to help adult learners reach their language goals in English. I have more than twenty years of experience teaching English as mother tongue as well as a second language.
I can provide assistance with writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, as well as English literature.

Hello, and welcome!
My name is Marais, and I am a TEFL-certified English teacher from South Africa. I have more than twenty years of teaching experience, and I hold a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature.
I am passionate about helping students improve their English in a way that is practical, enjoyable, and tailored to their individual goals. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, strengthen your grammar, prepare for an exam, or use English more confidently in your professional life, I can help you achieve those goals.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and encouraging. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit your needs and learning pace. In my classroom, mistakes are welcomed because they are an important part of the learning process.
Outside of teaching, I am a classical composer, an avid reader, and someone who enjoys exploring topics such as literature, history, science, and culture. These interests help me create engaging and meaningful conversations with students from around the world.
If you are looking for an experienced teacher who will support and encourage you every step of the way, I would be delighted to work with you.
