About Shaunté
Hi! My name is Shaunté, and I am passionate about helping students succeed in English. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science with a double major specializing in English Language and Literature & Psychology from the University of Cape Town (UCT), as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English Studies from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
I also have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification, which has equipped me with effective strategies for teaching English as a foreign language. These skills are equally useful for students learning English as a second or additional language, allowing me to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning needs.
I have experience tutoring and facilitating young learners and assisting high school and university students with essay writing, and I have strong skills in literary analysis, which I use to help students better understand and engage with texts. I take a professional, patient, and supportive approach to teaching, focusing on building confidence while helping students improve their skills and achieve their goals.
