About Jeanne
My educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Oregon, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, and an Advanced Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
My work experience includes 21 years of teaching English in secondary and elementary schools, as well as some experience teaching English remotely to English language learners.

Hello! My approach to teaching is student-driven. What are your interests? What do you most want help with? I think this individualized approach is one thing that sets me apart from other tutors, as well as a genuine love of language arts and young students.
I can create lessons for any grade level, from beginning readers to middle school students. I am also happy to help with homework assignments and projects. A typical lesson would begin with identifying a specific skill we have chosen for the day. We might then establish some background knowledge with content-specific vocabulary and discussion. After that, we could move on to applying the new skill (let's say a comprehension strategy) to an appropriate text. After reading, we would discuss the text and probably have some written or verbal comprehension questions.
