About Andy
I am a big advocate of experimentation and self-expression, though I have a firm belief that in order to execute these things properly, one needs to have a very good grasp on theory and established works.
As a prerequisite, I will share some of the biggest influences so far in my writing journey:
My favourite authors are Cormac McCarthy, William Faulkner and John Steinbeck.
Some of my favourite books are: Blood Meridian, Hamlet, Catch-22, The Sound and The Fury.

Lessons will mostly consist of writing workshops and feedback sessions. Feedback sessions will usually last no longer than 30 minutes; a workshop will last 1 hour and include 10-20 minutes of independent writing on a chosen topic(such as essay intros or a fiction scene).
My teaching style is analytical and honest, although I prioritize first building a close rapport with my students to form a trusting bond. With the deeply personal(and sometimes embarassing) process of sharing your writing with another human being brandishing a set of deadly eyes to read with and a mouth to critique with, it is very important that you can trust such a person in being honest and critical, but also supportive and encouraging.
I can teach A-Level and GCSE students essay-writing skills, but my knowledge in creative writing will be helpful to any beginner that is looking to express themselves on paper more effectively.
