About Charlie
I'm Charlie! I'm 21 years old and have a keen interest in literature and creative writing. Throughout the early years of secondary school, I achieved high grades in mock exams without the need for lengthy revision. However, when I reached GCSE revision, I hadn't developed the necessary study skills to keep achieving high grades without applying myself. I know first-hand how tough adapting to the increased workload of GCSE and A-Level revision can be, and my goal is to give you the tips I wish I'd had when I was studying. I currently study English at a top 10 UK university, the University of Bristol, and hold a Certificate of Higher Education with Merit in English from Queen Mary University of London, having spent a year there. With this experience, I can help you achieve your academic goals with study skills and essay writing tips, as well as offering expertise in personal statement writing and university preparation.
I achieved an A in English Literature and an A* in English Language at school, and full marks in my A-Level English Literature coursework essay. I offer tutoring sessions (length and frequency at your request) for GCSE and A-Level English students who want to:
-Achieve top grades in English
-Engage critically with, and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of, their set texts
-Develop study skills, exam and essay methods, and revision techniques which will be transferable across all humanities and essay-based subjects
-Get into their dream university and write an outstanding personal statement
I aim to make revision accessible and engaging, as I know that traditional study methods aren't for everyone. I have experience working with neurodiverse children (autism and ADHD) and can adapt to your needs and academic style!
