About Benjamin
I studied at the University of London (BA, MA) and the University of Nottingham (PhD) before becoming a university teacher. I pursued an academic career in the UK, USA, and Switzerland for a decade, with exceptional success in the classroom and a number of significant publications.
I have recently moved back to the UK to launch a new publishing house, while using my skills and experience in the classroom to help students through private tuition. My former students have praised my kind, compassionate, and supportive teaching style—I am especially good at unlocking students' abilities and helping students to have confidence in their ideas, in their writing skills, and in their ability to speak assuredly in front of an audience or interview panel.
I am an expert in nineteenth-century literature and philosophy, but my interests and experience cover literature and history from the medieval period to the present, critical theory and critical thinking, intellectual history, philosophy, theology, and art history.
I also have many years of experience in essay-writing workshops, one-to-one supervision of BA and MA theses, professional editing, proofreading, and publishing, and supporting students in applications to Russell Group universities

Experienced private tutor in humanities subjects (English literature and language, philosophy, critical thinking, religious studies, history, history of art, etc.), essay and dissertation guidance and support, and university applications. I have more than 10 years experience in university classrooms and one-to-one tutoring. I've taught at the universities of Edinburgh and Nottingham in the UK, and held the position of assistant professor the University of Lausanne in Switzerland for 6 years. I've also received funded fellowships at Harvard and at the University of Edinburgh.
