About Amy
My credentials for teaching rest on my laurels: achieving a First Class Honours in my undergraduate degree, and a Distinction in my Masters (both in English Literature). I have tutored a handful of GCSE students in preparations for their exams, all with success. However, I believe that where my experience lacks in practice, my strengths lie in my enthusiasm for the subject, and my experiences which I can share with my students to help them navigate their way to success and avoid the pitfalls along the way.
I do have further teaching experience, tutoring piano, violin, classical singing and music theory to a number of students, for ABRSM and Trinity music exams, all with a 100% pass rate. There I honed my teaching skills, developing as an excellent communicator, with the ability to tailor lesson plans to individual student needs.

I am a 2nd year PhD student in English Literature. I have achieved great success in my academic career so far, gaining a First Class Honours in my undergraduate degree, and a Distinction in my Masters (both in English Literature). My specific areas of research/interest are in early twentieth-century women's writing.
I am eager to teach students of any level (GCSE, A level, or Undergraduate) in Modern Literary Studies/English Literature, whether that is helping the student refine close reading skills (particularly useful for GCSE and A level students), assistance in research skills (for undergraduates), and encouraging students to develop critical thinking. I also offer proofreading services for assignments and dissertations.
