About Freya
I am currently studying my BA in English Literature at Durham University. I secured top grades (A-A*/8-9) at school in English at GCSE and A-Level, and have experience in both school and university entrance exams for English. I am passionate about inspiring students to enjoy their English studies, and about providing a solid foundation of confidence in revision and exam technique. This stems from my own experiences at school, in which I always felt English was a subject in which students were left to their own devices to figure out how to achieve highly and revise effectively in. I would like to make it an easier subject to access in terms of excelling and enjoyment for other students.

My lessons are typically 1 hour in length and take place online. I like to work with a dual focus - working backwards from the mark scheme, and breaking down what elements are required to write a high-performing essay, alongside building confidence and encouraging creativity in English writing abilities. The recipients of my lessons should be students currently studying for GCSE English Literature or Language, A-Level English Literature, or university entrance exams (typically Oxbridge), who feel a booster in confidence and refinement in technique would benefit their English ability overall.
