About Anna
I was born in England and I studied German and history at the University of Birmingham. I am 23 and have been living in Germany for two years now, for the first time in Hanover and now in South Hesse. I have almost three years of school and educational experience, as a private tutor (German / English), as a progress mentor in a high school in England, and so far I have worked in German schools for two years as a foreign language assistant. That means I help in the classroom to improve the English skills of my students from year 5 up to advanced level, and I also teach my own culture and origin. I love my job, but it ends for me at the end of the school year, and I'm looking for something to get through the summer before I start my Master's degree. Online tutoring is so versatile, so I can keep working wherever I'm living. I'm already working as a tutor, but these days I have more than enough time to accept more students.

Because of the Corona situation, I would much rather carry out online lessons (via Zoom). Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have had a lot of experience with online lessons, for school as well as for my tutoring. I am very organized and work in a structured way, I always have a lesson plan with me. However, I focus very much on the needs of the pupil. You would ideally tell me what topic or focus you want so that I can plan something nice and targeted. I am very familiar with the curriculum of the secondary and advanced level in German schools. Of course, as a native speaker who is fluent in German, I am, so to speak, a 'rare find', and I promise that you will not learn better English than with me!
If you, as a foreigner living in Germany, are able to speak English but still need help with German, then I am also a good choice to improve your German language skills. Having lived here for 2 years, I am familiar with the culture as well as fluent in the language, and learning the language of the country in which you live is the biggest step you can make towards integration.
As I said, I also have a joint honours History degree, so I could also teach History (in German or English). My areas of expertise include civil rights in America, the Third Reich, the Middle Ages in Europe, Russian history and British history (especially politics).

Ich kenne Anna seit September als sie als englische Fremdsprachenassistentin an unserer Schule gearbeitet hat und unser Kollegium verstärkt hat. Sie hat viel Erfahrung im Korrigieren und Material erstellen. Außerdem hat sie auch schon Erfahrungen im Unterrichten gesammelt in allen Klassenstufen, besonders vor allem in Klasse 5 und der Oberstufe. Anna ist nicht nur eine tolle Lehrerin, weil sie native speaker ist, sondern auch weil die sehr engagiert ist und flexibel. Sie steckt viel Herzblut in ihre Arbeit mit Schülern und versucht auch immer den Inhalt aktuell und interessant zu gestalten. Anna ist sehr zuverlässig und auch humorvoll. Ich kenne Anna nun schon länger und wir haben uns gegenseitig sehr bei unserer Sprachentwicklung geholfen. Außerdem habe ich schon einige ihrer Nachhilfestunden verfolgt und ich glaube, dass ihre Schüler sehr zufrieden sind.
