Teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) to children, my approach is built on a simple reality: kids don't learn languages by sitting through rigid, textbook-heavy lectures. They learn by doing, playing, and communicating in a space where they feel completely safe to make mistakes.
I treat language acquisition like learning to ride a bike—we start with plenty of support, focus on balance and momentum, and gradually let go of the handlebars as confidence grows.
I use a blend of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Total Physical Response (TPR). This means every new word is tied to a movement, a visual, or an action. Learning must be fun and interactive!
