About Shannon
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Writing) and Spanish from Luther College (Decorah, IA). I have tutored college-age peers for three years (Writing, Spanish), and I also hold a TEFL certification. I have worked with children ages 4-18 in an outdoor education setting for two years--I especially love working with high school-age students but will happily tutor all ages.

When it comes to Spanish tutoring, I prefer to use the target language as much as possible, supplementing with one's native language when necessary. With writing, I place high value on the pre-writing process, helping students brainstorm, craft working theses (essays), and spend time synthesizing source material before working it into an essay.
