About Kiersten
I am a certified Special Education teacher but I also am certified to teach general education for English all the way up to 12th grade. I majored in English in college and graduated from Rutgers University in 2018. I genuinely love working with all kinds of students and believe that everyone deserves to feel confident when reading and writing.

I specialize in working with students who struggle with focusing and retaining what they read. I have a strong background in technology and use multimedia tools in order to engage students in the task at hand to show how reading and writing can take you on all kinds of adventures. I use filters in videos, a document camera to walk students through different steps of writing, and build games to teach literacy. I pride myself on my creativity as a teacher.
