About Daniel
I tell my students that when I was in middle school I hated English. As I got older, I had teachers inspire the love of reading and writing through ways of engagement that related to my specific interests. I want to inspire the love of reading, writing, and speaking to all of my students. One way I can help inspire students is by allowing them to interact with literature through books, videos, video games, music, poetry, films, shows, plays, etc., that interest the student. Our world is filled with a variety of ways to learn English language skills, all we need is a guide to show us how.

I believe that students should be challenged but also have fun while learning. Therefore, I start with surface level engagement through some sort of creative engagement activity. Afterward, I challenge students in higher-order thinking through rigorous formative assignments. Tutoring will allow me to personalize content based off of students' prior knowledge. For example, I can take the interests of the student and create lessons based off of those interests. I currently teach level 1 English to adult learners.
