About Hannah
Hello everybody.
I have an MA in English and taught for a total of six years. I have spent many years working in the international film and TV industries, specifically with International cinema, and was fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel extensively.
I would love to work with International students, preferably adults or senior students. I would find the most relevant and interesting topics as a basis for practise in using the English language - in conversation or in writing exercises. For example, we could use issues such as climate change, your new lives in Canada, and cinema as a starting point for the development of lesson plans. My goal will be to assist you to develop confidence in your use of the English language- in your writing ability and in your ability to converse comfortably in English.

I taught at the University Level (UBC) for two years and five years at a Senior High School in British Colombia. For the past 35 years, I have worked in the International Film and TV industries, and have had the opportunity to travel extensively. I would like to work with International students- adults or older students- and would create lesson plans based on individual requirements. Lessons could be in person, or via Zoom. We could screen a film from the students country of origin, and then I would ask for a written and verbal assessment of the film. Another area might be local and international politics, climate change, or the process of uprooting ones life and moving to Canada.These are all areas that are key to the international student's life and could certainly be used as relevant topics for written and oral assignments.
