About Vanessa
I am passionate about English Literature and bring genuine enthusiasm for reading, interpretation, and creative exploration of texts into my teaching. I enjoy developing fresh, engaging ideas to make lessons dynamic and accessible, drawing on a wide range of approaches to keep learning stimulating. English has always been one of my favourite subjects and a personal interest, both as a source of enjoyment and a way to explore different perspectives and ideas. I aim to share this passion with my students, helping them feel comfortable, confident, and inspired in their own responses to literature, so that they can develop not only their skills but also a genuine enjoyment of the subject.

My teaching approach is flexible, student-centred, and grounded in active engagement with texts. I aim to make literature accessible while also challenging students to think critically and independently, whether they are working at GCSE, A-Level. I adapt my lessons to suit individual learning styles, using discussion, close analysis, and structured guidance to build confidence and deepen understanding. I place strong emphasis on developing analytical writing skills and encouraging students to form and articulate their own interpretations, rather than relying on memorisation. My goal is to create a supportive yet intellectually rigorous environment where every learner can progress at their own pace and reach their full potential.
