• 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I developed my interest in English Language & Literature after I surprisingly got 4th position without much preparation in a Creative Writing Competition held at University of Gujrat in 2012. It motivated me to pursue this field and I found online tutoring the best opportunity to exercise my talent and skills.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I like to discuss topics that help non-native speakers, especially Chinese, Africans and Asians in the UK or other parts of the world to improve their grammar, essay structure, and academic writing. I enjoy working on exam preparation, comprehension, and creative writing, and I keep literary analysis clear and practical rather than overly complex. My goal is to make learning tailored to each student’s needs, helping them build confidence and achieve academic success.

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Yes, one of my biggest inspirations was my section head, who made me learn the power of clear communication.His passion for teaching motivated me to become an educator who supports and inspires students in the same way.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  I believe a good tutor needs adaptability and strong subject knowledge. It’s also important for him/her to motivate learners to reach their full potential and explain ideas clearly to students.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  As a teacher, I encouraged students to practice speaking English in class without being mocked by classmates and relying on their native language. This immersive approach helped them gain confidence.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  I often work with students who understand the deeper meanings in literature but find it challenging to express their ideas clearly. I help them structure their thoughts, expand their vocabulary, and build confidence in articulating complex insights effectively.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I love teaching, but what truly motivates me is seeing a student understand, apply, and appreciate my lessons. Those moments fuel my passion and inspire me to grow and excel in my teaching career.
