About Juliet
My name is Juliet and I am a professional English teacher with nine years of experience, currently based in Highbury, north London. I am a native English speaker from south-east England. I offer tuition in English for students preparing for 11+, 13+ and English Language and Literature GCSE exams. I can also provide support for other English and Drama exams on request. I hold a Trinity Cert.TESOL and Young Learners Certificate from Oxford TEFL Prague, and provide structured language lessons which cover all aspects of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to students learning English as a foreign language. I also offer conversation based classes to those working at a higher level. Exam preparation, such as for IELTS, is also available. I teach both adults and children and have worked in the Czech Republic, Greece and the UK. I hold a current DBS check. I am currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire on the Dance Teaching and Learning Diploma (DDTAL). Juliet tutored my son for the 11plus. She was reliable, dedicated and engaged. She encouraged my son to be confident in English and greatly helped him in preparing for his exam. I highly recommend her.
Juliet tutored my son to help prepare the 11+ / 13+ tests. She's very organised and efficient; they did a mix of grammar/ writing / comprehension exercises, as well as verbal reasoning. These sessions helped my son understand what was expected of him in these tests, especially in terms of writing and comprehension skills; he made regular progress and achieved a high level in all areas.
Our son required a great deal of support to bring his level up and prepare him for a high achieving secondary school. Juliet came on board for weekly tutoring and immediately we could see progress. The quality of her teaching and her meticulous planning and preparation really accelerated his learning and he is now thriving at school. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Juliet as a tutor we are very grateful for her support and expertise.
