About Carissa
I started working as a teacher assistant in 2009 to a private school in Philippines my duties were assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, helping children who needs extra support to complete tasks, changing diapers and helping children clean themselves, helping teachers to write/post school updates on the pupils handbook, and monitoring and recording daily activities. I worked with them for 3 years and decided to leave and got married. Then I started to work for a pawnshop company for a year until I got my visa approved for UK. It was 2015 when I arrived in London and got my first job as an afternoon nanny for a family in Boston Manor and worked with them for 5months. Back then I realized I want more stable job so I spent a week to look for the proper one and found one in Pimlico as a Nanny/Housekeeper/Tutor for a 1 year old child, I stayed with them for 2 years and was in charge for organizing and accompanying the child on her play dates and activities such as music class, swimming and ballet, making and preparing child's meal for lunch and supper, keeping the child's bedroom clean and tidy, washing, ironing her clothes, teaching her Alphabets, Numbers and creating learning activities to help child's development, lastly, doing some extra jobs for the Mom and helping her with her business.

I am an experienced teacher assistant and a tutor. I give lessons to young learners ages 3-7 years old. I approach every topic by singing a nursery songs or preparing a game to get the children's attention. Then start a lesson by using visual aids or flashcards. Ask some questions and give them some exercises to know if they understand the lesson. By the end of the lesson, I am giving my students stickers or badges for a job well done.
