About Megan
I am new to this particular type of tutoring, but have previously been a peer mentor helping younger pupils at school, and have volunteered at a local primary school listening to children read. The students I have interacted with seemingly enjoyed our time together and became more confident with their subject or activity over time.

The content of English varies vastly from school to school, so I tailor my teaching to the individual. I will ask students to look at unseen passages for literary devices, as this will help them think quickly under exam conditions, and will go through past exam questions and model answers to highlight what examiners are looking for. Of course, if there is anything else with which the student struggles, we can review that until they feel more confident. For younger pupils, I will listen to them read aloud and then ask questions about the text to check their understanding and will practise literary skills with them to help improve their writing.
