About Lara
Hi, my name is Lara and I am a first year Medicine student at UCL.
I am an enthusiastic Chemistry Tutor, who will aim to help her students achieve their very best in the exams, but also learn to enjoy and appreciate the subjects and their complexities outside of the school environment.
Chemistry and Biology have been my favourite subjects all throughout middle and high-school, which I have showcased by participating in a range of competitions and Olympiads. Alongside the mentioned subjects, I have also done Physics, Maths and an EPQ at A-level and have received five A* grades in those.
As a student who has always found much joy and thrill in understanding the basic principles behind problems myself, I will encourage you to ask questions and actively participate in the sessions.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my labrador retriever dog Lu. Contemporary dance also used to be a large part of my life, which led me to graduating from a dance high school in 2019!

My tuition sessions are offered to students in high school (i.e. IB, GCSE or A-level) and to those in lower years.
Each lesson is tailored to the student to enhance their understanding and the learning process, as students have different preferences and learning styles. Through adapting my teaching methods and approach, I aim to create a challenging yet enjoyable environment.
Setting clear goals and learning objectives ahead of each session will allow both me and the student to be fully prepared for each class and make the most out of it.
When tutoring, I will often be using diagrams and drawings, online whiteboard, past paper questions and flashcards.
I believe that a combination of all these - a motivated and hard-working student, various teaching and learning resources, and an enthusiastic tutor - will lead to your improvement and success!

Lara is very patient when explaining materials to me. She is also very friendly and encourages asking questions whenever I am stuck. I enjoy her teaching style, as classes are active and challenging. This has allowed me to improve my grades and my understanding.
I have known Lara throughout our middle and high school, and I can happily and confidently say that she has helped me become more confident and improve my grades in biology and chemistry.
Lara is really good at explaining and the notes explains a lot for me. Biology seems less hard with her tutoring. I’m confident that I’ll smash Biology with her teaching. Totally trustworthy!!!!! Definitely recommended to those who are willing to learn!
