About Melanie
I taught Kindergarten through fifth grade in urban public schools for over 20 years. I've been tutoring elementary students for the past 2 years. My experience with a range of learning styles and ethnic backgrounds provides me the ability to teach all elementary age children. I believe that having a commitment to strengthening literacy skills while having fun is the key to successful learning. I am especially strong in the academic areas of reading, writing, science and mathematics and excel at teaching problem solving skills through non-violent communication.
