About Andrew
I am an English Language and Linguistics student at University of Leeds. For 2 years and counting I have tutored GCSE students, mainly in English and Maths, improving one student from 3 to 5/6 (D/E to B/A) in English. I have particular experience in tutoring English and Maths, and would consider these speciality subjects, and I have continued English to degree level. I am available at home (Newark-on-Trent) in the summer (June-September) and during Christmas and Easter holidays, and in Leeds during term-time/semesters.

I like to begin by judging whether the student is at, i.e. what level they are currently working towards and the improvement they would like to make and how likely they are to make such an improvement. I start by seeing their basic understanding of concepts and particular topics, for example Poetry within English, before working towards improving this understanding. I like to particularly consider exam technique to allow them to feel fully prepared when answering exam questions - at the end of the day, this is the most important skill!
