About Paula
I am a second-year student History & International Relations at King's College London and an IB alumni. My strongest subject has always been history. History lets me learn about my country's past, about important individuals that have changed the world, and understand what we can learn from the past to understand our world today. However, I also have a strong passion for the creative: I have a Bachelor in Dance and fulfilled my IB in higher level Theatre. Therefore, I also am really passionate about literature and would love to help tutor students for English! I am also a native German and Spanish speaker and could therefore help GCSE students with these languages.
In terms of help with UCAS personal statements, I am more than willing to help! I have gone through the UCAS application process twice and got accepted at my dream universities. I know what is needed for a good application, and hope to help students get there!
My sessions: The most important thing is getting the student engaged in their subjects and helping them find the fun in learning! After that comes the preparation for exams and coursework. Depending on the degree the student is doing, I will thoroughly look at the class outline and figure out what is needed to excel in the course. Then I will listen to the student and find out where he or she may need help. When it comes to essays, the student can always send me these and I will give them back with notes and comments on how it can be improved. My tutor sessions will allow the student to critically think and engage, and also to ask as many questions as needed.
