About Cameron
My PhD involved using tiny nanostructures to sense biological material so that we can better detect molecules which might be important in the diagnosis of disease. The sciences are really important for understanding the world and helping to make it a better place with new technology.
Throughout my PhD, I have taught to hundreds of undergraduate students, including those just arriving from school. This has included practical experiments, in-class learning of scientific concepts to help with their studies and walking through very difficult numerical studies. During the pandemic, this necessitated online tutorials and lessons with students which helped me to adapt my teaching technique.

I like to start tutoring sessions by establishing what place students are at already, by both asking about their current performance and completing some practice questions. From there, we can identify what topics require the most attention. I believe that anything from GCSE biology up to PhD level nanoscience can be split up into smaller, easily understood parts. Learning styles can be suited towards the student, including use of multimedia, like videos, mnemonics and practice tests.
I have kept myself up to date with changes to GCSE exams and it now it seems likely that these will take place in the coming school year, albeit with some adaptations. If you are at the stage where you are applying to University, I am also happy to help with the application process, including reading and proofing of personal statements.
