About Andrew
Hi! I'm Andrew, and I'm an enthusiastic Maths tutor willing to teach students of any ability with their secondary school studies.
I have recently finished A-Levels, having studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Economics, with predicted A* in all four subjects, and having achieved twelve 9s at GCSE.
My achievements in Maths throughout secondary school include Gold certificates in every level of the UKMT Maths Challenges, and Distinctions in Round 1 of the British Maths Olympiad for the past two years (top 250 in the country), as well as being awarded the Further Mathematics prize for my Y13 cohort.

I take an amicable approach to teaching and try to foster interest in Mathematics whether students are currently enjoying their mathematical studies or not. My methodology consists of ensuring students understand the basics behind topics they are struggling with before moving on to worked examples and then allowing them to think about problems themselves, with an emphasis on how to think about different types of question rather than just how to solve them correctly. In our first lesson, I will work with students to put together a lesson plan for future lessons to ensure that lesson time is used as effectively as possible.
My experience includes both teaching Maths through fortnightly Primary Maths Enrichment sessions with my school, where I led a group of three Y6 students through extension KS2 activities, and being an online tutor, having tutored piano online to two students since July 2021.
I am able to teach a wide range of levels, including KS2, 11+, GCSE and A-Level (Pure, Statistics + Mechanics).
