About Emma
I am currently a first-year undergraduate student studying English Literature at Royal Holloway University of London, and achieved a grade 9 in GCSE literature and language and a grade A in A-Level. Being a student myself who has recently left secondary education, I have accurate knowledge of what makes an effective teacher, transforming methods that have proved useful throughout my studies to teach my peers.
I understand that school can be stressful sometimes with deadlines and coursework, so am very patient with rearranging lessons and helping manage workloads. I aspire to help students achieve their goals as well as their dream grades, and show them how enjoyable studying literature can be.

I aim to help A-level students studying AQA English Literature B, and GCSE students studying AQA English Literature. My chosen GCSE specialised texts are Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, Inspector Calls and the Power and Conflict poetry anthology. I also specialise in tragedy and social and political protest at A-Level.
It is necessary for me to understand your learning goals and assess your current working level. My lessons are completely judgement-free, focusing on building knowledge and confidence in the material and essay writing. We will delve into the social context around the texts studied, and you will learn interesting and relevant facts about history and culture which will help you deepen your understanding of the material. The aim is to turn English into something enjoyable - enthusiasm and engagement is what will help you reach your best grade!
