About Maria Carolina
My name is Maria Carolina Pomares, I am from Monteria, Colombia, and I have lived in the US for a total of 5 years. I am an ESL teacher graduated from Universidad de Cordoba in Colombia. I decided to become an English teacher because I feel like it is a very gratifying career; I love sharing what I know with others and the feeling of helping them feel accomplished is awesome! I have been a teacher for the past 4 years; I worked at a high school in Colombia and taught teenagers from 8th and 9th grades. In addition, I worked as a freelance tutor and I did a fellowship at NYC's The New School where I taught adult students from all over the world. In my free time, I love to listen to podcasts, read, work out, and take naps whenever I can; sometimes I draw too.

Carolina is a very close friend and she also has all the tools and knowledge to help other people learn English. Plus, she is a very patient person, so she’s always gonna look the best way for you to understand English. So, don’t be afraid to ask her your questions, she’ loves to help people.
Her methods as an educator are eloquent and promotes optimal learning for her students. She’s assertive and hardworking, she’s always trying to find ways to make the process of knowledge very fun and gives her students the perfect keys to look at it as an amazing journey to walk through.
