Hi everyone, great to meet you!
My name is Annie and my diverse range of educational experience means that I am the perfect answer to any of your tutoring needs. Originally from the borough of Tameside in East Manchester, I attended a modest comprehensive school before going on to graduate from the University of Oxford with a Double First. I believe that my success is due to a unique and powerful belief about learning: that improvement follows interest. I hope to instil this belief into all my sessions, seeking to inspire students into deep, critical and nuanced opinions, through which they can find the self-motivation to carry them through any of their educational journeys.
I studied Geography at University because I loved the holistic nature of its enquiry base. One week I would be writing essays on politics and philosophy, the next; on deserts and oceans. This is such a fantastic asset for a subject because it means that anyone is able to find their niche, regardless of their interests. I will use this as a key tool in helping my students to improve, by assisting them in adapting their areas of Geography to their unique interests in the wider world. A specific element of how I will do this is by helping students to develop nuanced and detailed case studies about areas and events which really get their creative minds ticking.
