About Addie
I began working with Excel during my B.Sc in Business Analytics and quickly recognised its power as a tool for managing and interpreting data. Over 9 years of teaching, I have guided learners at all levels to transform apprehension into competence, mastering everything from basic formulas to advanced analytics and dashboard creation. I prioritise clarity, patience, and structured practice to ensure learners gain both skill and confidence.
I tailor lessons to each student’s abilities, focusing on practical applications, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises. I encourage learners to explore features independently, troubleshoot problems, and refine their workflow, fostering autonomy and critical thinking. Every lesson aims to strengthen both understanding and efficiency.
Outside teaching, I continue to enhance my Excel skills through professional projects, data visualisation challenges, and exploring new functionalities. Teaching Excel is particularly rewarding because learners quickly experience tangible progress and gain confidence in handling real-world data. Supporting their development into independent, capable users is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

Excel lessons with me aim to make students confident in managing, analysing, and presenting data. I emphasise understanding formulas, functions, and structured workflows, ensuring learners approach problems logically and effectively. Beginners develop skills in formatting, referencing, basic calculations, and table creation, while intermediate learners explore pivot tables, conditional formatting, lookup functions, and dynamic dashboards. Lessons include real-world exercises, helping learners see the relevance of Excel in academic, personal, and professional contexts. My teaching approach encourages experimentation, questions, and reflection to ensure deep understanding.
For advanced learners, I cover scenario analysis, advanced formulas, data visualisation, and macros to improve efficiency and analytical capacity. Lessons are designed to integrate problem-solving challenges, guided projects, and iterative feedback. I provide clear explanations and step-by-step instructions, helping students master complex features without feeling overwhelmed. Exercises simulate real data tasks, ensuring skills are practical, transferable, and directly applicable.
Excel training also strengthens analytical thinking, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving. Students develop confidence in working with complex datasets and presenting results clearly.
