I studied physics at university, hold a masters in physics and maths, and a PhD in applied maths. I'm a native English speaker and comfortable working with students of all ability levels.

Struggling with a tricky topic, aiming for a grade, or trying to get into a course everyone said was a reach? Need supervision for a coursework project? Whatever stage you are at, I can support you to achieve your goals.
If you're studying for school exams, GCSE, IGCSE, Scottish Highers, International Baccalaureate or A Level, in computer science, chemistry, physics, maths or further maths, I'll work with you to get up to speed with the material. Together we'll sharpen your exam technique until it's robust and systematic, tackling problems methodically and setting your answers out in a way that gives examiners every reason to award you the marks. I'll train you in methods to check your own working and catch mistakes, and build a strategy that's bespoke to you, timing, question order, all of it.
If you're aiming higher and applying for a course that needs one of the bespoke maths exams, the UK Maths Challenge, MAT, STEP or the TMUA, I can help you prepare specifically for that. These exams need a completely different kind of preparation to normal schoolwork, and it's exactly the kind of thing I specialise in.
Struggling with a university module? Need more supervision and mentoring during your coursework or final year project? I can help, I've supported students across a number of technical degrees, maths, physics, engineering, robotics and biomedical sciences, including the coding and stats behind the write up, in Stata, R or Python (pandas, numpy, scipy). I can also help you with your dissertation or thesis. Get in touch if you need support at university.
I'm happy to discuss pricing depending on how many types of sessions you want and how often, it varies a lot by situation. Your first session is 50% off, so it's a low risk way to see if we're a good fit.

Perfect! Explained very well to my son. Definitely recommend.
Perfect! Great !
Perfect! Arthur was very good and adpated his teaching to my sons need. His Knowledge in statistics helped my son gain confidence in his Advanced higher module.Although he taught only for around two months he made sure my son understand the topic before proceeding. He also gave regular extra work which acted as a practise to the topics covered during the class.
Perfect! We started with Arthur only a month before upcoming GCSEs. He went out of his way to fit us in, to a timetable we can work with, and has made a real difference in a short time. Arthur’s incredible knowledge, and across exam board/combined vs triple syllabuses, means he can support at the perfect level, breaking down or enhancing topic knowledge on request. He’s really boosted my son’s confidence and subject understanding in physics.
Perfect! He really impressed my daughter during her first lesson
Perfect! Arthur has been helping my teenage son for a year with A-level maths and a bit of physics. He got 8s in his GCSEs but has just received As in his first year of A-level modules. Arthur is an engaging, reliable and excellent tutor.
Perfect! Great first lesson with Arthur. Reluctant Year 10 son is already asking to book more slots - success! Thanks Arthur
Perfect! Arthur has been a first class tutor and has really helped solidify the knowledge base for my upcoming dissertation. Thank you!!!’ Highly recommended.
Perfect! Arthur is the best tutor! He has provided me an enormous support for my BSc Mathematics coding. I am incredibly happy with every lesson we have had. His lessons are very organised and he makes sure that I understand every part of what we are covering. Would definitely recommend Arthur to anyone looking for a tutor in maths!
Perfect! Really good - and nice - tutor! Very supportive and positive, and a good communicator. Working well with my son
Perfect! Arthur is great at explaining the finest details of the topic so that I can understand it with more depth. Great tutor. Really recommend.
Excellent! Arthur is capable of explaining challenging topics well when I have difficulty understanding them. He's skilled with many physics and maths topics, and can confidently help with any questions. He is also very friendly and easy to get along with; you can have a laugh with him whilst you learn which makes the sessions more engaging. The lessons are a little pricey, which is the only downside for me. Overall, a great tutor who you can't go wrong with. I would definitely recommend taking lessons from Arthur!
Perfect! Arthur is very calm and understanding which is essential for my daughter as she can get very anxious. He’s responsive to her questions and explains things clearly.
Perfect! Great teacher! Very patient and really taking time to explain everything!
Perfect! I have had an excellent couple of tutorial sessions with Arthur now and will be certainly getting more! He has really helped me revise for my A level maths exams. He explained the material in a really clear way so now I feel much more confident about the exam. Thanks so much!

Having worked alongside Arthur for several years, both as a teacher and learner during our PhDs at the university of Warwick, I can attest to his dedication to education in all its forms. His passion for the subject is infectious, bringing the best out of his students and his teaching peers alike. I have only ever heard positive feedback from students about Arthur’s friendly teaching style and his ability to explain complex, abstract concepts in a clear and engaging way. I can’t recommend Arthur enough as a tutor.
