I believe that math is either perceived as "easy" or "difficult" -- it is "easy" when students understand the related concepts and "difficult" when they don't. So, I always focus my instruction on identifying the concept/s a student is struggling with and then working to ensure that they understand them. I like when students ask questions because it allows me to determine what they don't understand and provide them with the instruction that clears up their misconceptions.
