About Imogen
Hi there, my name is Imogen and I graduated from the University of Exeter with a BSc in Psychology this Summer. Psychology is an ever-evolving science, which has fuelled my interest for it, specifically variable development caused by physical and psychological impairments, and the importance of the biological basis behind these impairments.
I have three years of online tutoring, which has included teaching through a Schools’ Programmes, at GCSE, A Level and Personal Statement Mentoring.
In addition to this, I have lots of previous teaching experience, having spent time in Japan teaching English to Japanese students in my Gap Year, teaching English to students at an International Summer School in London through lessons and activities, and currently acting as a volunteer Science mentor for a secondary school. My experiences have taught me so much about how individual learning styles and linguistic abilities, amongst other skills, have such a key influence on learning and understanding.
Through my exposure at University to current research, and time spent shadowing Clinical and Educational Psychologists, my knowledge of my subject areas is vast, and this is the knowledge that I would like to pass on to you.

The key thing about my sessions is that each one will be tailored specifically to you. Every individual has different learning style preferences, and I hope to get to know your learning style in order to ensure you have the best learning experience possible. Through my GCSEs, ALevels, and university examinations, I have tried many learning and revision techniques, and hope to show you these in the tutorials.
I want to ensure you confidently understand the basic building blocks of a concept or topic, before moving on to the more complex aspects. I will incorporate practice questions, especially exam style questions, as often as possible, as it is true that “practice makes perfect”.
Please let me know what topics you understand/are yet to understand prior to the session, so I know what to focus on. It would also be quite handy to let me know what exam board you will be examined by, so I can tailor sessions to that exam style.
