About Dodie
I was a volunteer at a college preparatory school where I learned how to teach students whole-brain learning. This method helps students remember information through movements. Each movement has a meaning and that meaning is connected to what is being taught. This reinforces memorization. This is extremely beneficial for teaching mathematics because addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are the foundation of every math level subject and therefore needs to be memorized.

Worksheets, story problems, and speed drills are at different difficulty levels for each grade level. Wherever a child struggles the most is where the lessons will focus the most while teaching and reinforcing other math skills.
Each child learns at a different pace. I, myself, struggled with math throughout my middle and high school years. I learned that it was due to not having the basics down. Though it is the easiest part of all of the math subjects, the basics set the foundation. Repetition reinforces memorization and retention of information. This is the key to making sure children have a steady foundation before learning harder skills in math.

Details
Hello, the FIRST lesson I have with any new parent and their child will be free. This allows me and the parent to communicate issues that a child might be having in math and my suggestions on methods to help the child. If the parent(s) continue to be interested in me being their child's tutor, the next lesson will cost $15/h.
